Map Editor (GR3ED)

The map editor that can be downloaded for GR3 is a very welcome addition to the GR community. It allows you to create your own campaign. With pre-mission briefings, custom maps, and a slew of opportunities. However, when compared with KQ2ED, the editing utility for Kyle's Quest 2, (Also from CrimsonFire) GR3ED pales in comparison. It's been said, however, that GR3 is not as reliant on user-made maps. Kyle's Quest 2 (KQ2) is useless without any maps. This part of the Galactic Realms Home Base is designed to tell you what you can and can't do with the GR3 editor, as well as some tips.

First off, here's a comparison chart with KQ2ED

So as you can see, KQ2ED can do many more things, most are not listed here, because KQ2ED has many things that wouldn't make sense to have in GR3. Not having custom graphics is a large disadvantage, however. Not being able to have text messages such as "Objective Achieved" is also an annoyance. Kyle has said that he will most likely not be adding any more features... Which is a shame.
